Our Classroom Homework Policies

Every night (Monday-Thursday), your child will have the following homework assignments: a math Homelink and 20 minutes of W.E.B. reading. These assignments should take a total of 30-35 minutes (maximum). Students are encouraged to use their class time wisely.  However, if a student does not finish an assignment in class, it may be sent home for homework.  In addition to the daily homework, your child may need to study for an upcoming quiz or test or a reading or spelling take-home task.  Quizzes and/or tests are announced to the students at least two days in advance and often posted on the classroom website even earlier.

Late, Missing or Incomplete Assignments will result in the following:

1st offense of the week: An "Oops Notice" will go home with a copy of the assignment. Assignment should be completed and returned the next day. A parent signature is required on the notice.

2nd-4th offense of the week: A "Homework Notice" will go home with a copy of the assignment.  Assignment should be completed and returned the next day. A parent signature is required on the notice. *If an already late, missing or incomplete assignment is not completed and returned the next day, a second notice will be sent.  This will go toward the total offenses for the week.

5th offense of the week: Student will complete the missing or incomplete work during his/her recess time.  If necessary, a phone call home will be made.
