Teaching Experience

     This is my seventh year in School District #47 and teaching third grade at Indian Prairie Elementary School.  I received my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Elementary Teacher Certification from Beloit College in Beloit, WI.  In May, 2006, I completed my Masters in Teaching and Leadership from Saint Xavier University in Chicago, IL. I continue to take classes and keep up to date on the best practices in education.

Expectations

     I am very excited to be working with your child.  I will work to help your child achieve what he/she is capable of and push them to not only meet, but exceed their capabilities.  Some characteristics that describe me are caring, enthusiastic, devoted, responsible, organized and always give my best. I have some of the same expectations for my students.  I want them to enjoy learning and maintain a positive attitude.  I hope that they will also give their best effort, be responsible for their work and actions and work to be organized.  Through this, I hope my students take pride in all that they do and work hard to reach their dreams, whatever they may be.  My main expectation, and wish, is that they will learn something new each day and value all that they have learned this school year!  I hope we can both learn from one another!

What about when I am not teaching, what do I do? What are my interests or hobbies? What are a few of my favorite things?

     Besides teaching, I also coach volleyball.  Previously I was the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach at Crystal Lake South High School, but I have recently taken a new position.  I am the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Judson University in Elgin, IL. I have also coached club volleyball for the past ten years.  I played volleyball in both high school and college.  It is a passion of mine, and I love to play now and again.

     Besides coaching and playing volleyball, I enjoy listening to music, working out, creating web pages, doing Sudoku puzzles and hanging out with friends! I also enjoy spending time with my husband, Mr. Pearce, and our dog, Buddy.
